Hi there,

Past 2 days I have popped around 12 ads on Facebook all to do with a driving business I am promoting.

They got accepted almost instantly which was awesome and I bought a $50 voucher to do tests.

I can't really target to certain people such as if I was promoting a new book about Michael Jackson I could promote to those who 'like' him.

As there is no fan pages to do with what I am promoting and if there was the people who like it already have what I want to supply them.

Anyway, because of this I am just advertising to my whole country or the top cities and only targeting suitable age groups.

So my CTR sucks. 0.039% etc. Always less than 0.050%.

I guess coz my CTR is bad facebook doesn't really want to show my advert as they could just show someone elses who gets more clicks?

How can I improve this?

Here is stats for my largest and most 'successful' ad within 24 hours.

This ad targets 6,363,820 users:
who live in the United Kingdom
exactly between the ages of 17 and 22 inclusive

Suggested Bid: $0.73 - 1.14 USD
I am bidding $0.80

Reached to over 40k people and had less than 40 clicks.

Advise would be much appreciated :)

facebook paid ads never worked for me and I know couple of people and it never worked for any of them ... dunno why .. banner advertising still works for me .. try doing some tweaks but I am not sure if it works or convert well for you.

Thanks for the input.

With what I am doing, I can spend around $50 until I need a sale so it can be profitable.

Just need Facebook to show the ad.

I can't think of anyway to make my CTR go up when its near impossible to target.

Just got my first click on another ad. CTR = 0.016%

lol.

try making "red color " attractive banners, facebook is blue so def red gonna work better :)

My picture is white with red writing :)

What I am offering is something that is free to try and no obligation, credit card details or anything is needed.

Just call, make appointment, turn up than decide.

So realistically CTR should be high but around 49% of people in my country already have what I am promoting.

You need pictures and ad copy that makes people want to take time to click your ads. You also need to find a way to target the 51% of the population that does not have your product. Break down your ads into smaller group ages and male/female demographics. You can tweak your ad to be more specific to that person which should generate more clicks.

Thanks for posting.

I have a real attractive pic with text as I am a graphic designer and the sales copy should be as good as it can be. Giving away something free as well as asking a question at the same time.

There is no way to target the other 51% of people that's my point.

The only thing I can do is target the age groups of people more likely to need the service.

Hmm Adwords it is than. Least than people are looking for what I supply and my ad will show.
