I've watched some videos about facebook ads where they show how to get likes on an facebook ad to gain social proof by targeting cheap countries like Philippines etc.

A lot of people are against this strategy because it can ruin the facebook pixel when doing retargeting etc.

But what if you just pick 5 cheap countries to pay for social proof then you EXCLUDE every cheap country you used for social proof when you start running conversion & retargeting campaigns. Would the conversion campaign or Facebook pixel still suffer from the earlier social proof campaign?

I started Facebook advertising this week so I might be missing something.

What I would do is create a Pixel only for the boosts. It will require an argument in your URL to trigger it if you have another Pixel for tier 1 countries campaigns. You'll need some coding, just few lines of code. You can find help on SO for this, or maybe a WP plugin already exists for this.

The simplest way would be to integrate the boost pixel on your site when you are running your boosts to warm up the account. After that, when you are ready to launch your legit campaigns, just create another pixel an integrate it to the website before running the campaigns.

Good luck,

I just realized that I've read you post a bit too quickly to miss the point. People that have liked your page are different from what a pixel gather as information. Sorry

You can try this as a Facebook Hack experiment, then post it as your "Journey". :)

People are against buying likes for good reasons. Targeted audiences are much more important than sheer like volume.
