Facebook Ads for Traffic

I have a blog, lets say about sneakers. I don't sell anything but would like more traffic to my site and to my fb fan page. Would it be worth it to publish some ads on Facebook or should I find another route to get more followers on my fan page and readers?

Build up your fan page and then just make posts on your wall...
