After running a few tests with Facebook to measure the CTR on CPC vs. CPM, the CTR seems to be ten times higher with CPC. The ads are identical and it was several days worth of data. Has anybody else had a similar experience?

I have not done a test for that specifically, but I can add that in general, a higher bid with cpc or cpm means a higher ctr, across almost all ad platforms including FB.

Cool, ty. I don't fault them for it, they're in the business to make money. I was just shocked when I went to look for more information to confirm my results and couldn't really find any.

I am really interested in this.. I am going to try some tests myself. It really doesn't seem to make sense unless you account for your CTR.. when paying CPC was your CTR higher? I know that CTR has a dramatic effect on bid prices on FB. They want their users to have fun and the only gauge they have of that is the ctr on your ads.

So can you share some CTR data, I would love to see it... great thread.:)

    Of course!

My first campaign was a very specific niche (target audience size about 16k) and I spent $50 over several days. My add looked good (I thought) but I got crushed. A CTR near 0.02 and I was paying around $1 a like. It wasn't a competitive niche at all either. I was only paying $0.15 CPM. I was getting tons of impressions, no results.

I decided to give it a go again. Exact same targeting, exact same ad. I spent another $50 and my CTR went from 0.02 to 0.25! Nothing to brag about but way, WAY better. My cost per like went from over $1 to $0.22.

No way this was a coincidence.

Hey, quick question for you guys running FB ADS. I am getting ready to start running ads and have of course multiple accounts, How do you pay for multiple accounts without big brother FB not picking up on the same person running different accounts and ads on the same credit card account...

I think the credit card is the key. You need different accounts with different names and different cards.

One more thing I can confirm is two different accounts (both real people with real credit cards) can use two separate $50 Facebook ad coupons for the same page.
