Could someone explain to me how some advertisers that are pushing a gray offer are getting good comments liked and at top of their ad comments section. I think this is really good if you are pushing an offer that needs some social proof to get the users to convert better.

1. Does it hurt your ads?
2. Can you get banned for this?

If FB sees no connection between your Ad account and the accounts commenting / getting likes on their comments, then FB won't do anything about it. Unless it is blatantly obvious that the comments are fake.

I feel like fb knows if a user is served the ad or not and if the user comments on an ad they didnt get served wouldnt that be a redflag assuming the account is not related to my accounts.

I've been doing this since 2016, and never had a single page banned or ad acct suspended for doing this.

Has anyone tried with IG ads not just FB?

Very common to have your post 'designed' with social proof before and alongside your campaign. FB dosent not care too much about that
