F*** Google, Time for the SEO Revolution

It's not just all about being penalized or not doing the right seo...... blahah. You have the undisputed and dominate amazon and ebay blocks that wont shift at the top the serps now.... a growing ad block at the top of the serps page (which even if you try yourself you will be up against amazon and ebay again and still you will be bidding all your profits away.) Im not going to add much elese to this forum post and i never really post on forums any more as im more concerned about creating content for my on websites.. but i just looked at this thread and just wanted to say what i think.

So you can be the greatest seo in the world and create the very best websites but if you aint google buddies you aint going nowhere..... google wants everyone to give up and go to adwords.

Amazon spammy affiliate links and rubbishy content... and google seems to think that amazon SPECIALIZES in everything dominating even leaders in the niche out of the top spot.

I don't think there's an industry today that doesn't have a dominant player, or constant change, that's the way business works. If I ran a small local butcher's shop, would I moan about Tesco's opening up next door and "stealing" my customers? No. (True story in my town, the butcher actually got more customers by using smart marketing).

We innovate, work with what's out there. Google is a major player in this industry. If you cannot work with them, work against them. Differentiate yourself by running a Yahoo/Bing ranking service, for example.

Yes, Google pisses me off sometimes, but there's nothing they can do to stop me ranking a website. Sometimes it takes time, sometimes you have to research new techniques, but it always works. An algorithm is not invincible and there's always money to be made from that.

Well said.

For those willing to understand their competitor and how to defeat them, money will be made -- whether that means improve your business by offering a service your competitor doesn't or finding the loopholes in an algorithm or using different SEO ranking techniques that work or different search engines.

(I have 1 site that ONLY gets traffic from Bing/Yahoo at this point because Google doesn't like the link profile. It does not do as well as it could for $ but -- you know what -- it still banks and I have no complaints.)

For those willing to complain and NOT test and evolve to the current SEO landscape, good luck ... I hear your parents may have a room in their basement for you ...

I think SEO for websites is Important but I mainly just focus on Traffic from various sources such as YouTube Videos,Yahoo Answers,Media Buys, etc. I don't like to depend on only Google for traffic.

Not really a revolution, but I thought some may find this interesting: http://redecentralize.org/about/

It's a collaborative effort to "decentralize" the Internet again.... And I think that not having a single company control XX % of ANY aspect of the WWW is part of decentralizing....

Idea from shawn hogan case:
"eBay employee was going around to each public access computer with a USB dongle he developed that would automatically install something that would redirect any user to eBay when they tried to access Yahoo Auctions."
