So yesterday I sent about twice as much traffic to CJ as I have been lately. And their stupid crappy-ass tracking never updated. All day nothing. This morning I wake up, check my account and it says I made $12! Wtf, CJ? I know damn well it should have been $xxx.

Are you tracking your traffic?

tracking what specifically? I know how much traffic I send and it converts at a fairly stable rate.

part of the reason I'm sure I'm getting shafted is because my account didn't update all day yesterday, which tells me they were having some kind of an issue.

in my experience they were about 2-3 hours behind.. at sometimes even more..

i had a friend in another state submit his info to find out after I had paused my campaigns to test ... not the absolute perfect, but who knows..

ive always wondered how much they skim our commissions...

for all we know, could be a lot

I've seen CJs tracking go wild, all over the place. Nothing new. I looked at one of my campaigns early this morning and it showed a 2300% CTR! A little while later it showed 250%. I'm waiting for it to settle down again before I get too worried.

Tracking your traffic with a platform such as Adtrackz or Prosper202. You can keep track of how many clicks you received, how many converted, what keywords are converting, etc.

This way, you also have some evidence to show your AMs if there is ever a large discrepancy.

Yeah, I use trackign software. But, well, part of the problem is I really don't want them looking to closely at my account. ;)

Yeah, that's my experience too. Some days it updates 6 times a day. Sometimes twice. It's all over the place. But yesterday my account didn't update at all until the middle of the night sometime. It makes me think they had problems and then just decided they weren't going to bother with adding back the commissions unless it was called to their attention, which I'd rather not do... :(

Drover, I know exactly what you mean.

I really wish some of CJs advertisers were available on other networks. I've talked to some of my AMs and, for the most part, CJ seems to have a strangle hold on some of them. They just won't make the switch. ARGH!

It's the "network effect"...just like eBay. The big sellers keep threatening to leave because eBay treats them like shit but they really don't have an alternative. eBay has all the buyers.

In CJ's case, the merchants won't leave because CJ has so many affiliates. The affiliates won't leave because CJ has so many merchants.

I disagree with this statement. Sure it's true people won't leave eBay since they're the largest name brand online, however who really is loyal to CJ? Especially when LinkShare is already better, with better merchants, and less likely to ban you for wearing white after Labor Day.

CJ just flat out ripped me off. I had several sign-up for trial offers and 2 of which I knew the people who signed up, but I got no credit for my sign ups.

So, I dumped the shit out of them!

There are waaaaaay too many other affiliate programs out there. You have to look for them, but never get complacent. And never put all of your eggs in the same basket.

i dont have any trouble with cj even tho it doesnt update in real time but tracking is right on with my cs log and theres

Another thing is though, do you know exactly where that additional traffic is coming from? I mean for example say you just increased your budget on a adwords campaign (allow content and search traffic) it doesn't mean that the new additional traffic would have to convert at the same level as your previous spending. Why you ask? Simple, that new traffic can be coming from lower quality sites that now end up getting catched up in your campaign due to the larger reach your new budget has. Also CJ is well known to have issues with traffic and conversion updates...it might just take a lil longer sometimes for them to actually fully update the numbers in the reporting area. The point is ..it could be a wide variety of reasons. If you have your own tracking system between your ads and CJ you can analyze exactly what's going on...
