Ohh its sick how much free energy is being suppressed by the "higher powers." Most of the people who make certain discoveries are simply paid off to not disclose them because it would dramatically cut into the profits of the big oil companies.

It's so ridiculous that in our world runs on an energy source thats 100 years old. I really hope that we do run out of oil so that all these suppressed free energy sources can finally be realized.

Imagine that: A world with unlimited and free energy. Free like the air we breathe. This will happen when the greed and profits of the oil cartels finally dies.

Ok.. so $2.75 and $3.00 per gallon is pretty insane.. yeah?

I wake up this morning, and to fill up the car $3.50!!!
It would cost me $60 to fill up my Camaro on Empty.

Ok.. I get that the cost of Oil is going up but you can not honestly tell me that it's necessary that we need to raise prices to $3.50.. and that's not all

Government officials are predicting that Gas Prices will hit $4.00 or even more this summer!

These oil companies are playing a damn game if you ask me.. lining their pockets with more money as they walk away from the bank's laughing. If you're going to raise the price of something, it might as well be something we depend on every day...

Well, I've been off of here for a while.. looks like a lot of changes have come to BHW

in my area i wake up and its 3.60. :|
i hear it may go up to 3.75 or higher! just ridiculous if you ask me.

Yes unrealistic now, but the oil will run out one day. Cant wait til Mother Earth says "F*CK YOU, I AINT GOT NO MO STINKIN OIL LEFT!"

Mother nature is going to let out a big queef (not sure if that's how it's spelled) and say thats it, sorry you greedy bastards the jig is up.

Almost to expensive to mow your lawn now days. To expensive for some to even drive to work. Like a single mother staying home rather than getting a job because of the cost of childcare, for some driving to work, it negates the amount they make causing it to be less worthwhile.

There's a lot of blame to go around but the government hardly should be blamed for our appetite for big fucking SUV's, desire to live in the burbs, and disdain towards public transportation.

In the immortal words of the Dalai Lama and Gandhi and too many countless leaders ... clean up your own shit first!

Too bad that more of you were not awake in other than you computer classes!

The President of The United States does NOT set oil prices and in fact has very little influence on those prices.

The price of crude is set by traders, not governments; not even Saudi sets the true price!

It ain't the politicians, it ain't the oil companies, it ain't the Prez...it is the market; which market is controlled by investors and speculators.

The cost of gasoline is determined by oil futures traders who shout prices at each other in the pits of the New York Mercantile Exchange during the day and quietly make deals electronically overnight.
Michael Burdette calls it a nearly 24-hour-a-day automated auction where prices can rapidly change as the trading floor hums on every piece of energy data it can get its hands on.

Ultimately the price is market driven, but the bids (the shouting) are also made with an eye on supply. Most products are effectively inexhaustible. Oil is not. There's so much available, then that's it. If you could zoom ahead 1,000 years and look back, you'd see a period between around 1890 and 2075 (wild ass guess) where oil was it as far as an energy source.

I think there's more of a political element to oil prices than some want us to believe. If there's a coup in Saudi Arabia (a very real possibility at some point) you will see oil prices skyrocket, not because there's suddenly less oil in the ground, but because traders will perceive potential threats to stable supplies.

And if there is trouble in Saudi Arabia, you can bet the good 'ol USA will be in there in no time. I don't care who is president. The threat to our country of widely unstable oil supplies is just not something our government would tolerate. Nor would most Americans, I would guess.

1 Gallons (US) = 3.78541 Liters

1 Liters of Gaz in western european countries ...today 1.44 € = 2,2395 $ per Liter

you have cheap gas prices over there ^^

Gas is BS no doubt..

I say.. we get everyone together and protest gas..
Ride a bike, walk, I know some people can't because of the amount they have to drive.. but I say for a week we use as minimal gas as possible and if the companies suffer enough loss they will listen to someone. The only reason they're jerking us around is so these Oil Companies and Bush can make their millions.. the country is full of sheep who blindly think people in government have "Integrity" but they're just going to continue to exploit us to line their pockets with even more cash.

And a news service or two might take notice or might not.

All you're going to get from riding a bike or walking is a bit of exercise.

Get over your obviously "liberal" (Read: America Hating Socialist) upbringing, get some education and toss the Che T-shirt.

uptownbulker,

It would great if it were JUST one individual who controlled the prices of oil.

But, as you point out, this is just not the case.

I mean, on the surface the "Bush and Company raising prices to make money" theory, seems quite plausible. It is problematic, however.

With all of the Left-Wingers gunning for President Bush, do you think that if even one shred of evidence that supported that very theory existed, that it would NOT be exposed? I have yet to see it. I know about "off-shore accounts" and dummy companies, but if someone has concrete proof that the theory is correct, then please present it.

We always blame the sitting president for the current state of gas prices. It has always been that way.

As far as blame goes, we need to examine how we as a people (both in the Americas and around the world), have allowed ourselves to be subservient to many countries that do not like us (Western) as a people and wish us harm.

As far as the War in Iraq goes, there are many opinions on the subject. In retrospect, would it have been better to have never gone in, in the first place? Perhaps. Sodom(sic) played his bluff. Stupid idiot that he was. One thing that many people forget is that he was just as bad as Hitler. There is no debating that one. A mass murderer is a mass murderer. Period. End of story.

Here is our problem. Do we finish the job? The truth is that the Middle East has always been a violent region of the world. It will still be when we do withdraw the main force of our troops.

cashcorp, the real problem is that many people do not understand just how differently many in the Middle East think than we do. When you do your thesis, please look very objectively at that very subject.........strength and power are characteristics that are held in high esteem in the Middle East, NOT compassion or even individual rights.

If we are not seen as being powerful and strong, then we will be viewed as weak and impotent. Do not assign Western thinking or values to this issue, as they do not apply for those involved in Jihad.

I do wish to put in a disclaimer.....there are many clear-thinking moderate people in the Middle East, who are friendly to the West (Jordan, for example and even Libya....whoa, who would ever seen that one coming)...but there are many who mean us harm. Libya, by the way, looked at both sides and bet on the US (and the West) to win versus Johnny Jihad and Company.......

I listen to what Osama and Company have been saying, and I believe their intentions are quite clear.

Anyway, interesting the different elements involved in "gas prices"........

It would definitely be a "Death Sentence" for anyone to try to that........I think the US would even get many countries on board to help deal with that problem in a most violent and decisive way......

Haha, you act like there is a difference between the left and right these days. They both now want big gov't and seem to favor raising taxes. Seems like they are all moving towards a fucking dictatorship.

It's just like how all the congress disagreed with the patriot act, oh thats right they didn't. Left or right, it doesn't even fuckin matter anymore. The right used to believe in lower taxes, smaller gov't and great things like that. Now they are just a bunch of neo-cons that believe the opposite.

Don't forget the left wingers are a bunch of pussies. Now I'm not saying the people outside of office, I'm talking about the ones in office. Every time they have an opportunity to overthrow something or expose the president, they DON'T.

Out gov't is pretty sad these days.

Dude, other countries are jumping ship on the US. Contrary to popular belief we don't have much support and it's dwindling by the day. Most countries are sick of the US and their attempt to dominate the world. Fuck I'm sick of it and I live here. Stop spending our money on a war that 80% or US citizens don't want to be in.

One thing that everyone needs to remember is that when and if the fuel crunch really hits hard and the American public is out of gas and heating oil, that same American public will not care how oil is obtained for it to stay warm and for the economy to continue at least on some level.

The only thing that the public will want to know, is how soon the fuel will be available so that the kids don't freeze and it will not ask questions about how the oil was obtained.

"Liberals" and Che T-shirt wearers included.

Well, hey, at least the Iraqis get cheap gas! Surely that was worth the entire war and the trillions in debt we racked up! Of course, for every gallon of gas they buy, the US tax payers are paying $1.50...

Well, at least my tax money is being put to good use, I mean, shit, I would hate to see some starving people eat a little something for that $1.50. Makes me proud of my government.
