Hey everyone, so i've got my site up and i've submitted some articles. I went to check my backlinks and my ezine article backlink isn't showing and neither is my squidoo lens.

How long does it take for the backlinks to register pointing to your site? And is there a way to make them show up faster?

Ive social bookmarked and pinged the ezine article through onlywire and i've also started building links to it as well.

Same thing with my squidoo lens, neither are showing up as backlinks for my site though.

Right now i'm ranking on the first page of google for various terms

I hold spot #1 for keyword scam (i actualy dominate this page with about 5 listings pointing to my site although it doesn't get many monthly searches)

spot #3 for keyword Review (been going up over the last three weeks from page 12)

and spot #5 for keyword (started moving up from page 12 and got to the bottom of page one and within the last week or so has moved all the way to spot #5)

when these higher quality backlinks start showing should my rankings go up even more?

Thanks for all the hlep, this is my first site so i'm pretty new at this stuff still.

I don't know a lot about squidoo but ezine articles get indexed on their own - usually within 12 hours without any effort on your part. It might take a week or so to start showing up in back link checkers but you can be guaranteed that the back link would have registered in less than 24 hours after the article was published.

You can stop fretting about this and spend more time writing articles instead of trying to get them indexed as it happens automatically for Ezine.

How are you checking for the backlinks? If you are using the link: search in Google they may never show up. Do a search for something on the page like a username or unique phrase and see if the page is indexed. If it is then the link is there and counting.

Google will never show but a small percentage of you links using the link: search. They do this on purpose. Yahoo will show more of them but still not all. If you really want to be able to accurately check your backlinks you need to create them in such a way that there is something unique on the page that you can search for.

I agree with Ramsweb - stop stressing about this and write another bunch of articles.
If you absolutely must know if your stuff is indexed one way is to copy a sentence or two from your article and do a google search with it in quotes : "Bla ba ab ba babab ab abab"

Simple and works for me as the quickest way to see if the material is in the google index. This is also the way to see if your material has been published by others.

Right now i've got an automatic article submitter that is submitting spun articles to about 500 article directories, 20 different directories a day. Right now i've got this proces going for two different articles so they are building in a "natural" way.

I'm submitting one a week to this submitter, and i've gotten one article approved by ezine and the other one in the approval process. I'll also be doing on ezeine article per week.

I've been doing blog commenting as well and social bookmarking various links as well as my site by using Onlywire.

I'm also planning on doing one link wheel a month (maybe two) but i don't think i should do this till my sites about 2-3 months old.

My sites been up since the 23rd of june.

Is this too aggressive? Should I add more?

Any advice you can give me would be awesome!!!

check your links in google webmaster tool, adding links (at any pace ) either will help your serp rankings or will do nothing. If you get too many (1000's) of link too fast than you may see a google dance, when your site will go down in serps temporarily.
