A few years back ExtraNormal made big splash on the scene for making quick animations with their TTS & 3D Animation System called State.
It's probably in the same category as Animoto, GoAnimate, CrazyTalk.
For those who do not know, TTS stands for - Text To Speech, you write text and the software converts it to speech.
Last year they stopped the development of State, changed their platform to become XtraNormal Desktop.
XN Desktop forced users to pay for their renderings. That meant No Internet = No rendering, No Tokens = No Rendering, No Server = No Rendering!!!
One year later.... Their licensing servers are all offline, their +50K Facebook page is gone, the YouTube twitter etc. accounts are taken down.
THEY ARE NOT HERE ANYMORE!! R.I.P.!
But there is a solution for those who liked the simplicity of telling a story by just typing text.
Behind the scene there has been a creative group of people that has continued to create animated videos and explore the State platform.
They have created a platform called State Plus, that acts like a launch platform for State.

State Plus has been created with a noobs and experts alike approach, it has a level setting option and allows you to tweak almost anything that a character can do and how a scene should look like. Or keep it simply down to select what characters should be in a scene and launch the State software.
Yes.. You can actually select characters from multiple categories and create a scene with Pres. Omama chats with Barbie & Spock & a Crash Test Dummy or select from hundreds of other characters into one scene. Something that you could never do with the "original" State..
There is a good bit to go until State Plus have solved all the problems to unlock the full potential of State. But it's already better than the original software was, and since XtraNormal is gone, they deem it as "Abandonware".
Noobs & coding talents from IJ are most welcome to join the Yahoo group to continue where XN as a company failed. A new dedicated website with forum is coming shortly.
Talents that are sought for.
++ Creative people who can write stories with these new set of tools and show XtraNormal how to do it.

Talents that are sought for.
- Hack the Exe - its a program coded with C++ using the Qt GUI.
- Remove license check against server. Currently there is a "workaround".
- Remove license check for "actors/voices/scenes/props". Workaround exists.
- Remove/dissable some links/buttons from software, as ex. "shop" does not exist anymore.
- Well anyone with coding skills are most welcome.
- Additionally, GFX artistis have a chance to remask/design existing/new characters & props.
