External Thumbnails in Wordpress

How do I manipulate wordpress to be able to display a thumbnail on an external site?

Currently it will only allow me to display images that are hosted on my site.

have you tried looking at the plugin database on wordpress?

thumbnail for excerpt

If you have any external or local image on your post, while you display the excerpt it will display thumbnail.

Thank you for your plug-in, however when I tried it, I could unfortunately not get it working.

On the bottom where it says:

Oops! No Product Images were found. Please make sure you attach a minimum of 1 image to this product! If you have attached images and you still get this message please make sure that your "Miscellaneous Settings" (from the admin backend) are filled in correctly. Specifically the "Store uploads in this folder" should have the default path filled-in and the "Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders" must be left unchecked!

That is what is happening to me unless I use the custom: image_thumb and the other portion being the locally hosted URL.

I have no problem with customs but I'd like to be able to use external URL.

I ussually use this plugin, but older version, 1.3 never use new one
It work both on external or gallery image.
