what kind of external backlinks will you recommend? also I use link whisper for internal interlinking but AI credits is very expensive.

I’d stay away from the typical BHW style packages if you’re seeing the same providers everywhere. Once the same sites are being used over and over, the placement becomes much less interesting to me
For external links I’d look for relevant sites that have their own audience and organic traffic. Niche publications, industry blogs, local businesses, associations, suppliers, partners, interviews, useful resources and genuine editorial mentions are the kind I’d prioritize
I’d rather build 5 links from different relevant domains that actually make sense than buy 50 links from sites that exist mainly to sell placements. Google specifically warns against links created primarily to manipulate rankings, including paid links that pass ranking credit and low quality directories or automated link building
For Link Whisper, you don’t really need to use the AI credits for everything. I’d use the tool to find orphan pages and linking opportunities, then manually add the important links. Google actually recommends making sure important pages are linked from other relevant pages and says there isn’t a magic number of internal links you need
A simple workflow would be to pick your important pages, find 5 to 10 existing articles that are genuinely related, add contextual links with natural anchor text, and repeat that whenever you publish something new
That saves the AI credits for the parts where the tool actually saves you time instead of paying it to make obvious links you could add yourself
