    Hello,

Does anyone know if it's possible to have users install a Chrome Extension without it being in the Web Store?

    Thanks in advance!

Yes, by downloading the files and manually installing them

Thanks for the reply! Would this be possible by setting up an .exe that will manually install the files and enable the extension within chrome?

I'm basically looking for a solution that would allow for an extension to be installed easily for users without using the Web Store...

Yeah that's what those pesky McAffee, Adobe and AVG downloads do. You install Flash Player and get 250 things dangling off your browser toolbar with it.

I honesty have no idea. I just know this because I had to install a plugin that wasn't on the store.

You wouldn't happen to know how to accomplish this, would you? ;)

    Yep. Here's how:

    copy extensionfile.crx %userhome%\chrome\plugins

    Or something like that.

I've already edited the .json file to included what I wanted... However, I was wondering if you know how to create a .exe which will install the extension?

    Thanks again!

    Hi!
The first problem, that if you`ll find the way to install extension(which are not in store) to users - each launch of browser will show for user a window, where says that user have nostore extension installed.
Next question i have is - what is the final point of your question?
Also there are some distribution way for extensions.

Ping me in skype to discuss details: monetizeus
    Regards, Dmitry!
