Exponential Growth within Instagram Account

Hello Everyone,

I have a question around how Instagram Followers grow exponentially. With Facebook you can see what post your friends like sometimes resulting in more followers... more eyes on your post.

With Instagram (I am still a little new) that doesn't happen.

So is the only way your account grows faster as you get more follows due to more chances of organic shoutouts?

You can also use trending hashtags to gain attention which will help with organic attention.

You can follow people to get more followers whom follow you back

I found huge success running accounts with niches, following & unfollowing for a few months until they got to about 10k with 3-4 posts per day.
The accounts got highlighted in Instagrams explore page and posts got hundreds of thousands of likes gaining them followers exponentially.

I run these accounts in large batches

My question is more centered around how accounts grow exponentially. Meaning how do they grow faster as you get more followers.

Is it due to pictures having the ability to hit the Top Post easier? More shoutouts?
