What are the essential technical SEO practices that every website owner should implement?
- make the site mobile friendly and fast (all of the pages should have at least 90 speed scores and should load completely in under 2 seconds, although preferably in under 1 second)
- fix all broken links, 404 pages, and bad / wrong / looping redirects (if you have a big site with 1000s of pages auditing tools like Screaming Frog can help you find the technical issues quickly)
- keep your site (both the UI and the source code) clean and safe (use Security plugins, SSL certificates, etc.)
- make your site clean, fast, user friendly and easy to navigate using breadcrumbs, tags (where appropriate), topical silos, etc...
- use retarded tools that google wants, such as schemas (I never understood schemas, but apparently they're important so use that crap)
- create and submit XML sitemaps to GSC to help the googlebot better crawl and index your site
