Hi, firstly I have to say thanks to BHW. There are so many great sharing and I learn a lot from this community. I am going to begin a a new project and I got confused about the expired domains and deleted domains. Any device and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What's the difference between expiring domains (from godaddy auction) and deleted domains from SEO perspective? Is it true that the deleted domains would be treated as new domains and will be in google sandbox for 1-2 month before ranking? How about a deleted domain was deleted within a week, and could be the same as expiring domains?

For domain age, is that true the domain age will be deleted from google for deleted domains? if so, how about it's deleted within 1 week?

I don't know whether or not it's good idea to pick deleted domains as my money site? (niche partially related with little backlinks, I care about domain age)

Thanks in advanced.

1. expiring domains on auction is like an old age domain, it get age score of course

2. expired domains already lose its age, even though expire 1 day, so i think it lose its age power

3. there are some guy build site base on expired/expiring domains, results vary. In general, its better than a fresh domains, because it already got backlinks/ages

Nice. Then what about the deleted domain as OP question?

expiring domain cost higher, take time to bid as well.

Basically almost none, if you are going to use them for PBNs.

Expired domains have a slight advantage that they are aged. Disadvantage is that in the first few months expired domains tend to lose few backlinks here and there because websites that are linking to them see that the website is no longer as it used to be in most cases.

Deleted domains has an advantage because they won't lose so many backlinks as they would in the expired domain cases, because what you see in deleted domain is already after the 'period of link loosing' (if they were deleted at least for 2 months).

If you are getting the usual low-end PBN domains as most newbies do, then deleted domains are better, because when you buy an expired domain with only a few good links, it's a greater chance that it will lose those links soon and thus becomes worthless, where in delete domains example they will probably stay for longer.

Thanks for your info. I think there is another factor I need to consider, which is whether or not the expired domains got penalty before. So do you think it is better to begin with a fresh domain?
