Godaddy and the rest of them on the marketplace seem to take the best domains promply. I am guessing they know how to "backorder" or buy them when they are getting ready to expire?

My question is how long do backlinks stay or exist on a expired domain? Does it work like a normal website still when the source or anchor of the backlink removes the link then it is dead? Sorry to ask a newb question. So lets say a site has a 90 DA link on it from vice.com, it the link still good as long as Vice keeps the anchor text link on their end?

Some of the domains I find have backlinks on them even though it says 0 which is confusing.

Your chance to find a good expired domain in a directory is less than 0.01%, all good domains get buyout before it goes there.

Thanks so I am aware in the future then, if on a expired domain search?

I have spent a hour or so there out of curiosity checking with semrush, it was difficult to I didn't buy anything good and learned there are sites out there with tons of backlinks no one wants because it was part of something spammy or etc.

domains that you can buy with open registering are domains that many people already seen and didn't wanted.

The free expired site is worthwhile, but you need to learn how to use it.

Anything with linkjuice will get purchased right at expiration. You need a good proxy service to bid for the domain at expiration. By the time it makes it to the marketplace, there are very few gems. Maybe some that slip through with a few links but you need to check that the links are legit.
