Expired WEB 2.0's vs Expired Domains

Has anyone noticed any differences in using expired web 2.0's, rather than expired domains for your PBN.

Providing the metrics are the same, is there any advantage to using a domain?

There are many advantages to using a domain instead of using a web 2.0. You are showing credibility for beginners.

You own the domain, that's your advantage. Web 2.0's can be deleted/unpublished without notice.

They both can rank a site depending on their strength and competition. With a domain you have total control of your links/content.
Advantage of Web 2.0 is no domain registration/hosting fees.

domains are always better.

Your asset is your asset forever. Web 2.0 is not your asset.

The biggest perk of a Web 2.0 network (Something I strongly advocate) is the 'trust / authority' of the root domain. You can pump of the fake metrics on a 2.0 easier because of the root domain. Often times, the Web 2.0 of the same stats will have a weaker back link profile because of the strength of the root domain.

All things being equal, because of how easy it is for metrics to spike with Web 2.0s, the PBN Domain is stronger.

Web 2.0s have their place. Being cheap and easy, it is an excellent way to get some links on 'Aged' properties with minimal effort and works best when used with PBN links. I find they add stability to ranking myself and they can move medium / easy KWs on their own.

Different tools for different jobs. Obviously, as everyone else stated, Web 2.0s can go down and you have less control. But you have a LOT more control over a Web 2.0 than any other link source aside from a PBN and they are much stronger than anything except a good PBN domain. Use both and make your money.

Most of the time you can't find web2.0s with as good linsk as web2.0s. Also, with web2.0s, you lose all the control as others have pointed. AND to 301, you usually need to pay extra for web2.0s.

There is nothing wrong at all with having constantly updated, aged, backlinked web2.0s that you keep longterm. But it is not the same as a PBN. Its just different.

So why not do a little of both?
