Expired vs Auction Domains - Never ending debate

Do you guys consider number of backlinks or just RD


I have a domain with RD33 and BL83 has 12BBC do-follow

I have ignored it. what are your thoughts ?

Err wtf, why you won't buy from Nargil because of where he is from? What kind of xenophobic crap is that?

You acknowledge he is a good seller and then proceed to say you won't buy from him because of where he is from. I don't understand this mentality.

Number of backlinks is irrelevant. Consider only RD. Just try not to go after domains with 50RD and 5 million backlinks. That's fishy.

Kikerinka is from the same country, it's not about xenophobia or anything, but about privacy. Countries are small and I can understand some people want to remain private, especially in country full of envious, prejudicial, uneducated, xenophobic etc etc. fucktards as this one.

@Nargil coming back to topic.

A question I always had in mind. Expired domains etc. have good metrics yes? But for how long? For ex. moz does an update every couple of weeks or so (maybe a month) so what's the possibility that an ED with good metrics will remain that way, say 6 months down the line if no further backlinks were not built (or atleast the URL's from the old website are revived so as to get back the link juice).

Secondly, when an ED is revived, isn't there a risk that some of the domains which were giving link juice would notice the new website and start removing the links?

Curious to know as when it comes to ED or even auction domains, the metrics are talked about the most but not much beyond that.

Yes, this can happen and link loss WILL happen to some extent, but it's never that catastrophic. This is one of the reasons why I always urge people to go after higher RD, rather than TF. But I got many RD10+ domains that still have decent profiles and haven't been registered for 5+ years.
 
Depending upon the project that i am working on, i would prefer both or either of them. No specific choices, but if i am working on a high authority blog or website then i would prefer links from auction domains, however if it is a thin affiliate site then i would prefer blasting them with links from expired domains. Now, dont ask my why, just personal choice.
 
Auction is cheaper. Even fresh domain has some juice that gets transferred.

thats why you check the BL profile of those domains and the age of that.
if you can afford those domains, you can afford some kind of ahrefs membership for a few days...
 
My point of view: Minimizing costs is nice, but the ROI when ranking sites with PBNs is usually awesome in the long run anyway. Sure, setup is a huge chunk, but recurrent expenses are low once everything is up and running. Hosting is cheap, domain renewals are cheap...just don't burn your PBNs and money sites ;)

Compare this to the "whitehat" agency world (which isn't white at all): People are buying guest posts, advertorials, editorial features and similar links for $XXX to $XXXX or sometimes even $XXXXX EACH, and those links maybe less risky than PBNs, they may drive some real traffic, but they easily cost 10 times more for the same effect. So, using PBNs is already extremely economical compared to other approaches, you can't get a comparable bang for the buck with any other working, legal and scalable method.
