Don't forget to make a free account for access to better filters and a wider database.

I recommend expireddomains.net as well, unless you want to start mining them yourself, which is quite time consuming.

And http://moonsy.com/expired_domains/ however, I never buy expired co.uk domains so I wouldn't know if it is any good for that.

Thanks lads i have just found a domain that i am interested in.

It is PR3. That's miles better than buying a brand new domain right?

Once i decide i want a domain is their any homework i need to do about it at all?

Check who is to make sure it wasn't owned by 10 different SEOs.

Check the backlink profile to:

- Make sure all the anchors tell the same story
- No spammy SEO anchors (viagra, hand bags, etc)
- Not loosing massive links recently
- Referring domains are coming from real sites, not spammy blog comments, directories etc.

Stats:
- PA > 30
- DA > 20
- TF > 10

This is a decent first set of things to look into. Typically, I go much deeper though and test a newly purchased site on a fake site before I start using it on a money site.
