I have a question regarding old backlink re-directs, which the answer seems to be unclear in Ahrefs.
Lets say I find an expired .net domain with a reasonably good backlink profile and no spam. The organisation is still live but have moved to .com and did not renew the old domain. Wayback Machine shows it's most recent crawl of the old domain to be a 301 re-direct.
On Ahrefs the backlinks to the old domain do not indicate that they have been re-directed and have all had their last crawl recently. Also the old .net domain has more backlinks indicated on Ahrefs than the new .com and a great DR.
What is peoples experience of this kind of scenario? I assume they stopped the re-direct or only redirected the homepage?
