I see a decent domain here with 20DA and 33PA, TF22 and CF18, but I'm worried about its backlinks. Its a band's site, and has few referring domains.
I'm about to buy it, will see what you guys think after :p.

The numbers are OK; the real question is where are those links placed.

I would visit those links (considering they are not too many from what you said) and try to gauge whether or not they will stick.

If they are on the homepage/sidebar of other blogs, I wouldn't buy it since they can be deleted in a heartbeat.

But if they are on inner pages of bigger sites which are much less likely to be edited, then I would go for it even if the links are few in number.

Check the linking pages for authority and trust factor. Otherwise things look good, not all expired domains would have several referring domains.

How many RD's? Anything above 10 is fine provided those are strong enough. Check its link lost History on Ahrefs. If its losing lots of links on daily basis then avoid it.

Also agree re: 10 or more RDs, but the other criteria should be backlinks to RD ratio. 1,000 backlinks from 100 domains = 10 per domain, which is reasonable. 1,000 backlinks from 20 domains = 50 per domain, which means low quality links in most cases (since the average website almost never gets 50 editorial links from any given domain).
I personally like to keep the ratio below 7 BLs to RDs. The higher it is the lower quality the links are (since sidebar and footer links are counted once on EVERY page, leading to huge # of BLs but low RDs).

it's really the quality of the backlinks that matters, not really the quantity. Quantity also helps, but only when the quality is there to.

How much is it going for?

It doesn't need to have a lot of linking root domains as long as the backlinks are ones that will stay for a long time to come.

Yes, you can buy this domain, just make it confirm that domain does not have any spam backlinks.

Google is always looking for quality and natural backlinks. Check out the backlink profile If you have a ton of backlinks and not very many referring domains, your backlink profile is very weak. Google punish high backlinks and low referring domains because, when a high number of backlinks come from a few sites, it's almost always a paid linking scheme.
