Expired domain - What else to check?

So I've found a few reasonable expired domains... No superstars given how saturated this market is :/

So far I've checked:
- Anchor texts, Backlink counts to check if spammed
- Quality of the backlinks
- Archive.org
- site:domain.com --> but this doesn't have any indexation (probably because the domain was expired 3 years ago)

What else should I do now? Trying to use this as a PBN.

Just go ahead and register and hope that the website ranks?

Are you used for 301 redirects? Or build a new website on this basis?

Pretty much, you can also check the host history to be extra sure. You can use domain tools (paid) or http://www.hosterstats.com/

Double check the DA/PA of the domain before buying and archive of the website and also check the domain with google banned checker

Besides the already mentioned hosting history, you can also add historic anchors in Majestic. Those oftentimes show a lot of shit that Ahrefs filters out. Hosting history will tell you straight away if the domain has been abused. Also, feel free to add Whois screenshot history, but that's a paid service. Shows things that Archive sometimes doesn't.
