Expired domain temp 301 redirect before uploading PBN?

Hi BHW, I was wondering is it OK to enable a temporary 301 redirect on an expired domain and when the PBN is ready can I upload it and then disable the 301 redirect? Will any link equity be lost doing this or it is OK and a normal thing to do? Or is it best to wait for the PBN to be built and then upload it and don't do a 301 redirect?

I absolutely do not see any point of that 301 redirect whatsoever. Upload it when it's ready and that's it.
