Expired domain - renew old links for pdf?

Hi there,

im buying expired domains, and try always to make old content on old urls ( where are significant backlinks ), like articles etc. But how u deal with files links?

For example old website owner had some strong backlinks pointing to expiredddomain.com/file123.pdf

Do you redirect this link somewhere, or you make pdf file with links, or you just let 404 there?

I wouldn't 404 it. Either recreate the URL with the PDF file on it (and upload a PDF with your own links in it, why not?) or redirect the URL to the homepage of one of your websites that is relevant to the expired domain. Just don't 404 it cause you lose a good opportunity for either link juice, traffic, or even sales

Better redirect this to your Home Page URL to max. link juice.
