Expired Domain Question

I saw many threads and journeys using expired domain for their project. I'm just wandering, do you guys use domains that is related to your topic? If yes, how related is it?

For example :

My specific keyword would be leg numb, do you only use domains related to leg numb or any expired domain that is related to the medicinal topic?

The closer that site is to your topic, the better it is. In your example, a good site about "numb leg" would be hitting the jackpot. Medicinal topic sites would also be great. That's how it would be linked naturally topic-wise. But they don't necessarily have to be connected to your keyword, just try to make the linking article about a mix of the sites original topic and your keyword

at least that's how I see it.
