Expired domain or expiring domain

Question is clear , should one go for expired domain or expiring domain.... Will it be ok to host the website on the purchased used domain or doing 301 to a new domain is still the options to glory...

Did i have to pay the registrar of the domain (namejet) to use my website address or transfer to my host bluehost? And i have seen various websites that says to find relevant niche expired domain. So, what i will do if it does not look relevent to any niche like abc.com ????
And , is the following stats good enough to go

If it has a spammy backlink profile then avoid it. It makes no real difference if it is expiring or expired. And if the domain is indexed in Google then you can host on it.

If you're saying all 1240 backlinks are "junk".. then why are you still considering even purchasing it? Most people seem to think that metrics are the only criteria which needs to be ticked off when buying a domain but that's completely wrong. Stop looking at just the metrics, but instead start analysing the backlink profile, anchor ratio, history of domain, etc.

Junk links are useless even if you have 10k of them.

I used some press release here on BHW and ended up getting over 1k links, rankings didn't move 1 bit lol

Better off getting a domain with 10 good strong links then 1k shit links.

metrics of that domain is pretty good but if it has links from China and Russia, then leave it

Not just China/Russia.. but any "junk" links and you should probably look at skipping it.

A lot of people believe that hunting for domains is hard.. and it is to an extent, but that doesn't mean you compromise for poor domains. There are plenty of domains available out there if you are patient and consistent with your "hunting".

KEep looking OP, there are some really nice golden nuggets out there. Good amount of links, some even high authority ones, decent metrics - don't settle for less as it won't be worth your while.
