I've been looking at really old expired domains, but everything is 0 or NA. How can I tell what a sites PR use to be before I buy it?

You can't. And why would you need it?

If the backlinks are good and you build really good site, it for sure will get some PR with the next update. Which are happening not often now...

I also don't think you can.. How can you tell if a domain used to be indexed in Google, but isn't anymore? You could use Archive.org to see what the domain used to look like, but telling if it used to have a valid PR is pretty impossible.
