Expired Domain Metrics, Do They Really Help? HELP

Hey guys, was wondering if an expired domain with existing metrics are worth using if original niche isn't related to amazon niche. Should I use this or an EMD domain? Which will rank me better?

You should really be looking where from your expired domains have links from more then every other metric, and how many RDs are there. Forget about EMD, I find it useless nowdays, better make something unique and brandish sort of for your store it gives more value then EMD IMHO.

I could add main keyword in brand name. I've always been told if metrics are good it will help ranking a lot. Do you think you could see a substantial difference?

Metrics are sort of important in first view to rule out shitty ones but you need to check up on domain yourself at the end of the day to see what is good. I've seen hundreds of TF20+ spammed domains that no one should touch even with 10 foot pole. But you'll run onto premium domains with TF4 (yup, not a typo) or so that will be perfectly good for your use. But at the end of the day everyone has its own preferences and experience.

I was once a verylongkeyworddomaintypeofguy.com trust me. There is nothing good about that now, it was for a while back in EMD days, but now I would always go for brand over EMD.

Lets say I did a check on the domains and they were good to go. I bought it from a reputable domain seller. Tf is about 15. Should I use this even tho its not my niche.

I would use them if they are good. And make them niche related just find any connection, there is always one, about your domain and your money site niche, I did that and it works.

@littlewebdragon answered the stuff already basically, I would like to add a few things.

EMDs are useless. There's no benefit from them at all and only thing that can happen is you overoptimizing yourself and screwing your site up. Also, most of the EMDs have already been registered at some point and most likely, very badly SEOed and dropped, so their history will look like shit. So either go for brandable domain or for strong expired one.

Regarding the metrics, well if you have thousands or millions of domains to filter out, you have to do it somehow. For example RD is not even a metric. RD is a fact, so that should be something to focus on quite a bit. The higher the RD, the more reliable the TF becomes. However, very rarely do great domains have shitty metrics. It happens, but that's fairly rare.

If you are planning to use domain for your money site which is not within your niche, then it's fine of course, but you would be better off with a niche relevant domain in this case. If it's for PBN, then by all means, not a big deal. Just repurpose it for your niche at least.
