Expired Domain Link Building

I bought an expired domain for a niche that im looking to enter.

The domain has no backlinks and had very little content on it back in 2004.

My question is how quickly can I start building links to the website and does velocity matter.

It has a DA of 5 and PA 3

check the history, spam links and spam score of that domain. if its good you can build it
spam score must be 0.

Thanks for your response but that doesnt answer my question. The site is clean with a spam score of 0. What I'm trying to figure out is how to attack link building

This is very strange scenario.

Why bother with old domain when it has 0 links?

Anyway...

If it's truly aged you should be out of the sand-box quicker (or not enter it at all).

I think it's safe to start link-building on the 2nd month and slowly moving forward.

Start slowly with social fortress and web 2.0s. Branded mostly.

Then slowly feed PBN links on month 3+

Keep the velocity for months.

If spam score of the site is 0, you can slowly build the links from good metric sites. Make sure you're choosing blogs as per your target niche.

I assume you picked out the domain because of its niche-specificity and BRAND APPEAL

if so, you're definitely on the right track. Do broken link and skyscraper content link building paired with a decent social media campaign and you can develop a solid brand in no time

I think you can go ahead and start building links to that domain without issue - there isn't really a rule of thumb on when to start, just make sure that the speed matches up with the number of social signals that your new site has.
If the link amount suddenly surge a great deal, then it will look unnatural, but if you lace it with legit social signal, that simply means that your site is just garnering attention from the great content, but the social signals must be from legit accounts.

Do a very detailed check of the backlink history, make sure that there arent any toxic links there.
