Expired domain is hard to be indexed

I bought 2 expired domains last month.
One is a blog site and the other is a B2B site.
They both have basic external links, guest posts, and Wikipedia links, but finished the site and published dozens of articles, it has been 28 days, they still only indexed the home page
I plan to make a fully automated blog for the blog site, but so far I feel that the situation seems to be bad.

Any good suggestions to help to index, or is the expired domain I bought not good enough?

This might not have much to do with your domains, my newer websites are seeing similar indexing problems since the last Google update.
 
Well i found out expired domains which revived with its old content, get index faster and better.

I revived 2 expired domains 2 weeks ago and took all the content from wayback machine, they got indexed within week.

But when i changed the expired domain's niche, turn into completely new website and topic, still not get indexed.

I might be wrong, but thats the fact that i get from my 3 expired domains.

Can you please help me in finding a good expired domain?

How long the domains are expired in between before you resume.. any idea about it? Whole math relied on it.
 
Google indexing issues are one of the reasons.

The second I guess is that the domains do not have sizeable backlink profile and thus are behaving like fresh domains.

Third possible reason is, that the domains were abused in the past and are lame and are causing issues. Such domains will never rank properly.

I had a similar problem with an expired domain and I guess it might have been due to some "spammy" links pointing to it. One thing would have been to reject these links (you can do that in Google console if I'm not mistaken, but I never did). A few months later, everything just worked fine.

It will probably work if you give it a little time.
 
My thoughts are the same as @Nargil

I often did mistakes like checking the backlink profile using ahrefs free tool, where not all the backlinks are listed.
After purchase, I would soon find out it was spammed by with chinese/japanese medicine.

Other domains might have decent DA/DR, however 90% come from former website directories.
When in production, it simply won't be crawled as often.

As a contrast, I bough one expired domain with pretty low metrics (DA21/DR8) however it was a former non profit coding organisation in some USA state. Indexed over 15k pages in less than a week because of all the backlinks it had.

It's just a numbers game.
I also concluded than age, even if the domain dropped, still have some relevance.
I often go for 15+ year old domains, and even though the metrics are mediocre, I see decent results.

I choose related niche already, I decide to check those backlinks carefully.

Have you kept these sites as they were originally, same niche etc?
 
It's actually normal now that the new search algorithm got updated.

I had a few sites that were new domains, and they got indexed within 2 weeks. No backlink. Super niche content. if anyone is interested, I can show them. DR score went from 0 to 15+ now with great backlinks.

Good idea, I have to say I ignore many details, just saw the domain with some wikipedia, then I bought it .

B2B site: I think I keep the same niche, because the product is both solar-related. Blog site: A little bit different, It used to be many article about energy, like Nuclear, hydrogen, oil, as well as aviation and ships. I plan to write solar power on it.
