So I bought an expired domain with a great backlink profile. I've had the domain for a month now and have created some posts and pages that have been indexed.
The problem is, when you search site:mysite.com on Google, there are tons of indexed pages that show up for the site but are not on my actual website.
Most of these pages are in French, Chinese and Arabic. Some were created just days ago or hours ago. When you click on them, it's a 404 because the pages don't exist on my site yet they keep showing up on Google searches as belonging to my site.
Any one experienced this kind of problem or know how to solve? Is it a hacker problem?

To check this I would need your domain address, if your site is running on wordpress and you have nulled or outdated plugins is possible.
It is best to run a scan with ImunifyAV or on wordpress using wordfence and check results :)

Will send a pm

It appears your site got infected

The reason should be that you have used nulled themes or plugins from an untrusted website or a theme that was not updated for long time

if it was hacked then the pages would exist now

most likely just a bug in Google, these are old pages that remain in index for a long time

I had pages in index on 1 site for about 6 months, although the site was not working

How do you know? Are these pages or posts appearing inside your wordpress site with these recent dates? If so, then your site is compromised, and should extract what you worked on and do a fresh reinstall, and use wordfence. There are plenty of free plugin's and themes no need to use nulled ones.

I once had a shady hosting company employee copy my entire site and sent traffic out, and many links were cached on the index. I called support, they erased the duplicated site and the problem of course went away. Your situation is different but it might that someone has a clone out there.
