Expired domain as backlinks

Hi guys, happy new year!

I would like to understand better how does it works the thing that you use an expired domain to create a backlink. I checked on google, but most of the articles have been made only to push you to buy an ebook.

If for example, I get an hosting like gogeek from siteground with unlimited website, would I be able to buy good expired domains, attach all of them to the same host and redirect those domains to the money website?

Would it work to boost my money website on google ranking?

Using an expired domain allows you to take advantage of the existing link profile
That's the whole idea behind it

yaa it works until google finds out you, but it happens rarely.
