Expired domain appraisal

Hi guys I found a good clean domain with around 190 RD, but Im just starting in this domain game so don't know how to put a good price. Any recommendation about appraisal process?

Just scan the RD, check each referring domain closely. Forget about metrics. If the referring domain strength is good and they are the best in the game like Wikipedia Forbes or other leading news sites then you can consider the domain to be good. Also, domain should have some amount of niche relevant RD as well, so look for it. Check the anchors of the links too, u will find if any spam links exist and that should be red flag for you.

Again, don't fret over metrics, rather don't even look at them.

Hi fred thx for replying, indeed i'm not purely metric based scraper, because it is true, metrics can be faked and spam checking is time consuming but im pretty sure this domain wasn't used before


Now, about what u said "not even look at them", I think is a "good" general advice, but tbh they are some kind necessary, if not how do we scrap in the first place? We need some guides, and some metrics are good indicators, for example DR has a direct correlation with UGC backlinks and punish them, But thank you I know what you mean. But the question is, how do I appraise a good domain?.


I Remember reading a Dnacademy post about how per every link - we talking about clean domains here- you can set a base price wich should be increased based on his co-relation with the "best in the game" domains, as you said before.


The thing is I can reach some good buyers but this time I want to do it with some better negotiation skills, any advice would be appreciated

Few things out of the bat, is this domain scraped? And what's its TLD? If it's a top TLD domain available for free registration, then I am 99.9% positive that it was abused at some point in the past.

If it's a clean auction domain, the rule of thumb price range, these days, will be around $600 - $700. If it's brandable, then even double that, depending on niche.

Prices these days are beyond ridiculous.

Japanese

Doubt people will fight over that much to be honest. Japanese is the worst language for that domain to have frankly, considering that everyone has PTSD from the Japanese spam on every second expired domain ever.

But then again, you never know.
