Expired domain 404 errors

How do you manage 404 errors after registering an expired domain? should I ignore 404? I can't redirect to relevant page because the content is different from previous niche. What will you do in this situation?

lots of 404 errors is also bad for blog authority?

If the pages have some backlinks redirect them to the homepage
If the pages have 0 links set 404
It's pretty normal to have 404 pages

Thanks but one of my friend told me having 100+ of 404s will create issue with ranking of your other pages.

Yes you are right but my niche is different from previous one so redirecting to homepage will be good or should i leave this idea?

Even redirecting all the 404 to the homepage will create issue believe me and it's definitely a footprint

How many 404 error pages are there? Is there no way to check the old content and just rebuild some of it?

around 400+, it was just a database of local stores in india so i can't publish the same content
