I have an online-shop selling and shipping products. I want to optimize for local search queries. Therefore...
1. I'll create unique content-pages with "city" + "keyword".
2. Add local addresses (not mine but some recommended place or something) within each city.

Do you have more sophisticated techniques? Can I somehow work with multiple google+ local listings? Whats your experience?

Make sure you have a linked Google+ with Local Places. Then start working on adding citations by adding your local info using the same address phone name etc. to other local directories. You can use Fiverr to get them to do the tedious work.

Ive been using G + and see NO seo benefit. Heck I dont even see an increase in CTR's...and G gives you that data s well

If used the right way you can see a huge uplift in revenue for your local service. PM me and I can help you every step of the way.

I want to rank in many different cities, although I don't have physical stores there. Thats the point.

- 1 website
- 100 custom pages with keyword+city
- but 100 Google places?

With google places I can only add one location for my business. Is there a way around? Or does this feature really make only sense for local business owners?

do a bulk upload 100 places.

This is a great idea because it increases visibility BUT it's a LOT of work. Also just because you create a listing doens't mean you'll pop up in the local pack. I have a company I do local seo for in 15 states with over 70 listings and was crazy setting up all the listings from scratch + citations...etc. You can still get great visibility using rich snippets hreview or author tags...

I think people here our missing the what the OP is trying to do.

I have a site set up and optimize by state and city. I had it custom built for me into wordpress.
For Example I have it set some my titles say something like.

"Service Rental In Ohio" or "Service Rental In Cincinnati"

I don't think the places service will work as he doesn't have 100 physical locations for his business.

I have been struggling with google maps/places/local listings for some time now. I dont think even fucking google knows whats going on with it.
