    Hello All,

We just changed CMS for one of my client site and now its on drupal platform.

The thing is. Previously webmaster wasn't showing so many issues in crawl error section.

As per google webmaster tools Crawl error status the site is having 2000+ Access denied URLs and 177 not found pages!

i have checked with broken links tool and Screaming Frog SEO Spider tools also and they aren't showing me any broken links nor 4xx errors!

all the URLs which are not found are actually got indexed or crawled when drupal wasn't configured correctly.

So, what my question to you is.. what should i do to fix all the webmaster issues?

shall i create 404 default page as suggested by google?
or shall i redirect all the not found pages to homepage via .htaccess?

    Please advice.

As long as your sure they aren't linking from any where (i would double check with Xenu as its the best site crawler) and they are giving a 404 server status you can request them to be removed in Web master tools. Site configuration > crawler access then the removal URLs tab

thanks man but i have already tried it and didn't see any server status with 404. i think i have to wait so that webmaster tools will automatically remove all the document gone and renewed links.

When you go the link manually in you browser do they return a 404 server status?

Yeah WMT will update on its own over time as long as they are serving a 404, can take ages though and pisses you off still seeing the warnings, that's why i speed it up by removing the url in WMT too.

Joomla is terrible for that. If you don't k ow what you are doing you can get all sorts of random pages poppping up.
