AI will not replace the programmer in any way, it will serve as a tool for specialists, because the programmer does not write only code, communication is very important, so this is a good addition but not a replacement

Whoa, AI replacing coders in 10 years? Hold on a sec. AI can code some, but it can't handle the big picture or solve complex problems yet. Human creativity is key
 
Coders might work with AI instead of being replaced. AI for code, humans for creative solutions. That's my take!
 
Nah I don't think so. I use it every day for coding and it's a fantastic assistant, especially isolated tasks like creating functions given a description, or writing unit tests. But the context for a large project which it would have to be creative with for the desired solution is just beyond the current technology, I can't see it happening anytime soon. I don't know how to describe it but you can sort of 'feel' the current limitations with LLMs, and it feels like they're just squeezing out minor upgrades at this point.
 
and who is going to test the code? how is AI going to be able to judge the user experience of humans using an app or a website? who will tell the AI what exactly the problem is that needs troubleshooting and give it precise enough instructions to make the necessary edits?

does this guy even know how many revisions just a simple program goes through? you need someone who is a) human and b) has experience writing programs for humans to do all the above correctly

you are coding for human usage and therefore only humans can tell exactly what other humans might like or dislike using the program. how will AI do this? does it have all the senses we have?

I believe AI can be a terrific tool or assistant in writing code but completely replace human coders? no way
