What is the search volume etc?
Also onpage SEO involves more than Meta tag and description.
How many pages and articles/posts does your site have?

I would suggest you sign up for a free Clicky account, and add your site to it. This will track any visitors. I don't have much faith in the plugin statcounters. Also sign up for a free account with serpfox, or serpbook, and add your site. These will track your rankings. Probably best to use serpbook for this because it checks ranks for the big 3 search engines. Leave it a day or two. If it really is low competition and you are not showing in the rank checker, then you need to look at your dashboard set-up, and your on-site SEO.

If you are ranking but still getting no visitors, then you need to work on promoting your site.
