Hi, I just found a plugin which will generate a "Table of contents" (Screenshot attached) for all your headings and when you click any of the items, it will take you to the respective heading on the blog. My question is since each heading now is a anchor tag, will it effect my SEO positively or negatively?
I mean will it be a case of Anchor Stuffing? How will google bot react to it. Please help

BEFORE - No Table of contents

AFTER - Table of content with anchor and hyperlink(can be seen on left bottom)

I think it improves the SEO. I have seen this Plugin installed on many sites which posts tutorials on SEO and link building.

Bump. Anyone who has already tried this please share your inputs.

I'm using this plugin for a couple of years now, what I found out that it was helping with featured snippets. For example, if you have posts about 10 best cars, Google will use this TOC plugin top 10 info list.

Other than that I found only that it's better for UX as I have ~5-10k word articles and no one will read that anyway.

It helps. Anything that can help Google understand the structure of the page is obviously positive. I've had a lot of success in getting featured snippets through this & it can also improve the look of the SERP result in general.

I usually do this manually, I didn't know there was a plugin!

Game changer...

might as well have it - i have the same plugin and it helps users - you can see that in GA - as a result, I am sure google likes all that engagement
