Hello BH,
I am looking for some advice regarding my next venture.

I have a unique service to offers to Webmasters related to security Niche. I am willing to give some serious competition to established brands like sucuri. Problem is I don't have a clear roadmap in mind. I do have enough materials in my closet to create brand value within 1-3 months. I also have some methods in mind but they are not enough.

Any precious advice will be appreciated and if there is something which we can work out will be compensated. I thought to start a JV but then taking a break here in lounge for some fresh ideas :)

Feel free to PM or post here on how shall I start.

I already have finalized the domain name. Regarding SEO, I am not able to find related keywords which I think will be worthy of spending the time to bank. So my main bet is on Email marketing and social media marketing. I am also willing to provide some free services if needed to create some attention.

If you have the skills, I would create some smaller plugins first and try to build an email list with that perhaps? This would take longer though, and a product that DEFINITELY doesn't sell is the one that was never even finished, so might be smarter to just focus on building out your main thing first, and then reach out to influencers/bloggers in Web Dev/IM who would promote your stuff.

If you already have an email list, definitely take advantage of that by giving some free value to your subs first.

What's unique about your service?

It's good to have goals, but Sucuri has over 100 employees and they are the go-to security firm for CMS. Are you seriously able to compete with them?

As @Sephrata says you have got an ambitious project, but do you have a marketing budget to match?

If you are able to demonstrate your better than the competition, then simply reverse engineer their marketing model, because your going for the same clients then if you both pitch you will win a fair amount of the time.

When It comes to security you don't need over 100 employees to do stuff. I remember one incident when CEO of WHMCS was ready to fly to another country to meet a guy and offer him some serious things just because his all team was not able to accomplish things which that single guy was able to.

I have some serious experience in web security which I am willing to utilize.

I have been watching things (I was pretty active exploit researcher for web apps) like WordPress plugins getting exploited including sucuri or similar from a long time (+5 years). with that experience, I can do a lot of things useful for webmasters.

Most important thing, Sucuri is not doing things manually, when it comes to providing premium services in security, manual methods are always considered best.

I don't want to go the plugin way. It's being done by many guys. Later I may include it, but for now I will focus on services only.

@hacko : I am glad you replied here. I started my amazon affiliate website after reading your thread :)
