Whats up guys? Just joined this forum. BTW sorry ab posting an ad outside the marketplace mods :). I seriously did not know I couldn't. Wont do it again. Anyways, I have a site with wix. It is the site I have prob spent the most time and effort on, so I was considering purchasing some SEO packages from the marketplace. Still, I have heard that wix is horrible for SEO. I already have a decent quality URL for Wix and I heard its a pain to get it switched over. I am new to SEO and niche sites, so correct me if my thinking is flawed. Anyways, I basically want to know if any of you have had good experience with getting ranked under a Wix site, and if it is possible to actually rank well using them. Any and all help is appreciated!

can you add your own domain there? you can get a domain for a $1 at sites like godaddy, must be easier than trying to rank a wix domain

So wix is bad for ranking? Its hard to tell with so many diff answers online. My site is already created and im getting about 20 organic visitors a day on wix.

I know you cant transfer your site over with wix. I am also not very experienced in web desing, so wix had the drag and pull creator which i like.

My domain name is good. I paid for a good quality url btw.

Get your own .com domain and web hosting and you will thank yourself later on.
blog.com has been down for almost a week now. What if Wix closed down tommorow?

I appreciate the advice. I shot you a thanks.

I was with wix a couple of years ago, actually, I built my first site with it. Once I taught myself some code, I wanted to transfer the site to another host as Wix is more just a WYSIWYG editor and doesn't really allow much personalization, in terms of code etc... transferring was impossible as they don't allow it for whatever reason. I had to start all over again from scratch with a new host, which kind of sucked back then, but it taught me a whole lot in the long run, which I am 100% grateful for today!

I'd say if you don't really want to learn much of any code (which is senseless) and are NOT trying to run any kind of complex site, then go for it.

IMHO...

I tried Wix for my blog. But couldn't get good and inspiring results from it.
I think other sites work better than Wix for any services like hosting, web designing, domain names, etc.
