Hi to all of you,

I want it to ask, did someone had a problem with DMCA for using a template downloaded form here (especially from themeforest). I am interested to install it on wordpress site, so if you want to share something about it, please. You can also PM me if you want it. I am sorry if this is inappropriate question to some of the members.

Why would you get a DMCA takedown for purchasing and using a theme. It makes no sense to me.

Improper sentence structure makes it sound like that.
What he is asking is if he downloads a themeforest template from the "Downloads" section on here (without paying for it), will he get a DMCA notice.


Unlikely.

No. If ThemeForest were sending DMCA take-downs for unauthorized use of WP themes, this forum would be covered-up by wailing Blackhatters, cursing ThemeForest and fighting amongst themselves about who is to blame.

All programs including themes that are coded for Wordpress inherit the Wordpress GPL licensing which means you can do whatever you want with them including resell them and give them away on forums.

I am also interested in this, as i read the policy in Themeforest, they mentioned that you can use their theme yourself and ONE of your client.

May anyone correct me about this?

Yes your correct you may only use one theme, but they can't tell if you purchased it or not... Theres no online watermark or licence to check your site against any of the ones that have been purchased unless you link your Envato account to the theme in wp panel which some themes offer
