EXPANDING PHONE FARM

Hi all
my laptop dies after more than 3 androids are connected the devices just connect/disconnect constantly because its 1 card using 4 hubs

what did you all do when you got to this point if expanding a farm? i wanted about 50 androids tbh-eventually

i could build a pc with more PCIe cards for more cards and more usb

just wondering what you all did instead

Basically what you said, a pc with more PCIe cards. Ideally multiple PCs so bandwidth is plenty and the PCs don't struggle.

You don't want your limiting factor to be the CPU and RAM, and with 50 devices (!) it can be quite resource intensive.

Before buying anything, test one good powered hub directly on a different laptop USB port. If the disconnects disappear, it’s probably that specific controller/hub/cable path rather than the phones

there is a way for android automation without connecting to pc
so when u connect with wirre keep in mind that ur laptop power is used
but when u use other techniques like accesibility and remote automation , your phone can be in any country and u can handle them via a dashboard
and ur phone power is used ,

an ideal setup for this kind of setup is to have a deidcated phone pox which can connect all the phones to your pc through one single usb cable. Ideally every phone uses one core of the cpu. so if you have a 64 core cpu, you can basically run 64 phone devices from your pc. A graphics card wont be necessary for this operation but a good cooling system could help.

The best setup to handle 50 Androids is to connect it with a PC and having a High Quality USB Hub with 20-25 Ports each, And connect it to 2 different USB Ports, Simple and Straightforward.

Get normal PC + some program for automation real devices

for something that can handle that kind of capacity I would build a solid 32 core or 64 core CPU based PC (no graphics card needed usually for this operation) and connect with a legit phone box which has 20 + phone boards. And use a softwares to control these phones. I would put multiple phone boxes and attach to my PC. generally it is maintained that one phone hardware uses as much as one core to process the actions being done so 64 cores should be able to simultaneously be able to handle 50+ phones.
I wouldnt connect phones via USB hubs as an ideal long term stratagey as it can overheat by being plugged 24/7 and difficult to scale with all the cables going all over the place.

for 50 phones i’d split the farm across a few small PCs instead of building one monster machine… easier to scale and if one host dies you don’t lose the whole farm
