Expanding my youtube channel

I'm looking for a legit way of getting my youtube channel more popular. I'm a video game developer and create simple tutorials that people can follow and learn to make games. Even if you have never made a video game or programmed in your life it's still very easy to follow. How may I go about finding more subscribers and viewers? I know everyone out there would love to create there own video games so it could be a pretty big channel. Should I start a blog? What other websites are good to advertise as well for free? Currently I mostly use reddit and game developer forums. Any advice and I would be greatful. If anyone wants to checkout my channel it's " jesseetzler0 ". Thanks in advance.

search for the keyword that mostly people search, go to youtube and look for something that is related to your niche which is popular and create a tutorial that is quite the same but you should make a better one then see the statistics what is the top keyword that the uploader used and insert it to your video or make it as the title. The success of this trick will depends on you.

That's what I have been currently doing. Checking top videos similar for most searched key words. I'm still only getting around 100-200 views per day and only making around 10 cents per day. Not sure if I should be creating more videos or advertising more on various sites. Any places to get more backlinks to my videos / channel?

Do a video series, these always get a lot more views and subscribers than normal videos. Do a promo for your series on all related forums and on various article sites.

I was thinking of making a lets play series on really weird games. If I divided it all into small 5min parts each it might get a lot of people watching them.
