Exoclick Banners - What is going on here?

Hey guys,

I've been recently testing promoting adult dating using exoclick, and I've been targeting a lot of tier 2 locations that have good economies like germany, switzerland, etc.... I'm admittedly new to media buying but have been in adult for a LONG time using other traffic. I want to expand to media buying.

At first I started with exoclick popunders and was getting a bit of success, some days I would be profitable and some days not. Mobile wasn't very good, desktop a lot better.

I decided to move to what is "supposed" to be better quality traffic.

I've been running banner campaigns this past week on both mobile and desktop, using BEMOB as my tracker so I can optimize based on the data.

Here's the problem though... there is nothing to optimize. I've spent $400 in banner clicks for $9 in leads ... I am shocked and horrified by these results. Even popunder was WAY better then this. I can't even believe my eyes frankly.

I'm not using whack unrelated banners or completely shit offers, I'm using the strongest offers I can find in these geos across several networks (crak, los pollos, imonetize) And the banners are as good as any i've seen on these tubes. It's not a matter of swapping out a banner trust me on that part at least.

I'm also willing to lose money and optimize my way to success, but this isn't even close to being successful at all. I'm burning money like its going out of style!

Am I doing something wrong, or is exoclick banner traffic just total trash? Is anyone successfully running banners on exoclick? I'm trying to stay motivated but its hard to run campaigns that are this bad.

Lol before replies.. I'm pretty sure I may have found the reason. Will be able to confirm in next 24-48 hours.

Despite taking my time with the other targeting & sections, I fucked up and overlooked the ZONES and it was set to "ALL" and on top of that I was noticing I could bid the lowest amount possible and still get "tons of traffic" even at the lowest bid. Newb mistake.

Looking at the reports in bemob, I can see that exoclick spread my traffic across a lot of zones, and my "theory" is they fed me to the sharks and I bought a bunch of the most junk traffic on the network. Selecting ALL zones and setting the bid to the lowest.... I don't think that was a good idea.

Now I'm going to carefully target only their premium zones and go forward.

Anyone here have a similar experience with exoclick....getting some real junk when targeting all zones at low bid?
