Exclusive BHW - my Wordpress help thread.

That plugin will help me namewithnogaps however, what I want is a blog to mirror the exact same blog that is live... like a test blog where I can see changes before actually trying it on my live, real blog (if that makes sense).
I appreciate that plugin and that is also helpful.

Edit: I think I have solved my own problem... Although I have yet to use MU, perhaps I should create blog using WP-MU and mirror the main blog as one of the blog...

Hi, I am somewhat of a WP newbie, I just started my first website a little over a month ago. Things are going great but the WP theme I came across that I love and want to use is giving me two minor problems.

1. My homepage's middle_column is not showing up properly..
2. The thumbnails for my excerpts, videos, and photos are not showing up at all. (Just blank images.)

My site is popcultnews[dot]com, I am using an alternative theme at the moment until I get things sorted out with the theme I really want to use: RedCarpet.

If you can help, it would be much appreciated.. I also would be willing to pay a small fee for your troubles.

I will try to help you all out in the evening, I'm a little busyright now.

cheers

It's impossible for me to say without seeing the themes codes, plugins etc. Probably some css/theme functions issue.

it's a premium theme. it might not be compatible with your wp version or as happens often, it can be hard to configure - it's a protection against nulling the theme. Often there are instructions in premium theme's member's area.

Question about base64 encoded footers . I found a great online decoder. I decoded the footer and deleted the stuff that I did not want. When I go to activate the theme it has a message about tampering with the footer. How is this done, and how can I get around this?

Thanks

there's some function which validates the footer code, it shouldnt be hard to find it and delete.

just search all files in notepad++ for "footer"

it is true wpmu can help, but also you can try to mirror your blog on XAMPP local server on windows

Hi there
Thanks for helping everyone out.

I also have a question:
my site has the main body and two side bars to the right.
when i am on a static page, or viewing the category list etc the theme is fine, but once I click on a post and it opens the post, the two sidebars jumps to the bottom of my main column.

I playd around with the sizes but it made no difference...

Do you have any idea why this happens?

I've seen the site.

I suggest you compare the files index.php(correct) and single.php(bad sidebar) from your theme directory. It may be a problem with a CSS class used in single.php or a function.
