Anybody Here Have Trouble With Hoarding Stuff?

I have shit load of physical stuff in my house right now(mostly physical books) which I never touch.
Furthermore, I have over 200 GB of stuff in my hard drive that I don't even know exist (never touch since acquisition).

I am in the process of removing them and de-clutter my life.
Is anybody here having the same problem?

I thought eBay is a good place to sell stuffs you won't want.

Perhaps, today is your Pay day :)

Actually, I print the book out in A4 paper and the staple them together so I don't think there is any value there.
At one point I thought that is going to make me read them faster than on PC so yeah, it stinks now.

Plugins, themes, templates, software, and graphics are my downfall. Harddrives bulging at the seams, and one just started having problems coming up this morning, 232 GB I have to move before this drive fails and I have 70 GB of room.

Woe is me.

Just like me. I feel bad getting rid of them.
They keep stocking up and up and then one day you look back:
Geez, I have over 200 GB of stuff that I never use.

But there might be some useful stuff in there.
(We can't download book for free like the old day so that might be the only copy I got)
I just don't really want to sort through 200 GB, it's a nightmare.

The thing with us hoarders is... we keep having that "I think I will need it one day" mentality.

Like I have some really-really old games which I have not played for months and it's still in my laptop. lol.
Not to mention wordpress plugins and templates, which I do not use at all.

All those porn we are "going to watch", LOL.

Hey, why don't we start a group on bhw and make a commitment to clear all of our clutters.

I don't see how people get that attached to material objects to "hoard" them. Just throw out what you don't need.

It's not that simple for hoarders like us.
We keep thinking that we need them for something later.

Well when you've noticed a load of crap piling up, doesn't that usually signal to you that you won't "need them for something later"?

My problem isn't with stuff a person would just throw out it's stuff I buy and could sell. I buy it so cheap normally that if I sold it and then needed it later on I would never be able to find it that cheap. Again this is mostly car parts in my case. Though I have yet to throw out a pc in like 10 years, I have 2 old P4s sitting around doing nothing.

Though I did take the first step yesterday actually because I traded a MH I've had sitting for the last 3 years for a car. Do I need the car? Nope but it's way easier to sell then the MH and I'm not even gonna drive it so I won't wanna keep it. I've learned in the past to let my friends drive cars I'm gonna flip home so I don't decide to keep them.

At least you're making some sort of progress lol.

while not guilty myself my wife is a serious hoarder. I have a garage I can't fit a car in, along with cupboards I can't fit clothes in.

Among the more pointless things she hoards are her uni notes (which are now over 20 years old and have travelled from the UK to Australia) plus every piece of clothing and baby toy our daughter has ever owned (and she will definately be an only child).

We are currently looking for a bigger house as a 4 bedroom house is not big enough for our family of three.
