Exact match domain question

Hi,

I want to target one long tail keyword in a low competition niche. So I am trying to purchase an exact match domain for it.

I want to know that after launching website on that domain do I have to build links for it or it will automatically come in search results on the exact keyword ?

An EMD isn't as blessed as it used to be, however if you have high quality content on your website then it will rank. Almost all my domains are EMD's, and the ones with high quality content rank. Building up a few high quality, manual links will get an EMD to rank for a low competition niche. It doesn't take that much time and work. Optimize your website for SEO, build up manual backlinks and you will be golden.

Since you have an EMD you shouldn't ruin it, instead you should milk it for what its worth by doing it right!

I`m not that sure...i tried googling my domain exacly like xxxxxxx.com and still i was ranking lower then others for my domain name

After the EMD update it is difficult to predict whether the google will give preference to your website in the SERP without any links from other websites. The best thing is to optimize your website according to google guidelines which will help in long run.
