Considering my target keyword is : fast food restaurant new jersey
Do you think theexact match domain fastfoodrestaurentnew jersey dot com is considered a long domain and bad for seo?

It is way too long, you should go for maximum two words never more than that.

Why, because website with longer domain names take longer to load or longer domain names take long to resolve?
You say never as if its a blunder to have a name longer than 2 words.

OP, if the name suits your niche go for it. Doesn't matter if its long or short.

If you have one word domain you hit big time.
If I have a choice between two word and four word domain i will go with two word. As simple as that.

We are not talking domain flipping here, are we?

Didn't Matt Cutts make a comment about this? Saying that branding in the url is more important than keywords? I'm not an expert by any means but i think that url is too long and there is many other ways to be targeting the keywords you need. I know of a local seo guy in my area that specialises in this field, and he only targets the niche then sub folders to get the exact match url. But then again its surprising what top the 10 url's are coming in for local.

I would honestly avoid EMDs. The benefit there is minimal and chance of overoptimizing them, especially if you are new to this, is pretty huge. I would go with something brandable if it were up to me.

Agree

In SEO it doesn't matter now, to have an Exact Match Domain, but it will definitely be fruitful for your biz though

Isn't it that Google Algorithm is penalizing websites that are using EMD and the same keywords excessively?

I go for perfect match if it's 2 or 3 short words. Honestly I don't really see much more results for having perfect match vs not. It helps but not enough to have a 30 character domain.

One cause may be because it is not easy to remember long domain names. Show me a single long domain'd popular website that is related to food. I am sure there will be none. Branding is a big thing if you are not building a churn n' burn website.

Yes. Sure not use too long domain. Always use 2 to 3 short words domains. Also we can add page, or post to target your keywords instead of buying exact domain name.

I'd rather go for NJFastFood.com or something like that. EMD is not crucial when targeting a niche.
If you're going for a qualitative authority website then you should consider something easy to remember/type. What is the most important will be your title and Hn tags, as well as quality content.

EMD carry a huge risk of over-optimisation when you'll b building links.
